Re: PREST1 van Noorwegen
Welcome! That's a very nice collection you have, congratulations!
It's nice knowing that the forum is also getting members from other countries than only Belgium and the Netherlands.

Re: PREST1 van Noorwegen
It sure is a nice collection. Never seen your collection all together.
What about those "M3" fighting knives on the left with the S shaped crossguards?

Re: PREST1 van Noorwegen
The fighting knife in the lower right hand corner is Dutch WW1 fighting knife that was captured and modified by the Germans in WW2. I have so far seen one picture in a book and it is nice to see one in a collection. It could be a German modification typically done in Norway as it is known that these Beutewaffen were used in Norway.
Best regards,
Kilian

Re: PREST1 van Noorwegen
Right below on the last picture looks some kind of Dutch Fichting Knive (stormdolk) as Killian already pointed out. But not only the grip is different, the lemmet is also different, all togehter the Dutch knive has almost completly altered. In a way that puzzles me ? Does anyone knows more about this ?

The "book" that I referred to is Armamentaria number 14 from 1979 and which is published by the "Friends of the Dutch Armymuseum". On page 28 is a picture of such modified Dutch dagger, with its modified scabbard. It is described as a probably German modification and that the dagger was found in Norway.

Re: PREST1 van Noorwegen
I've seen this type of modification a lot. I think I might have seen some 4 examples in the last 2 years with the modificated scabbard of the "Stormdolk".
@Jdeleur: The M3 fitghting knife is a typical Norwegian fighting knife and may well be a new made example or a modification of the original M3 knife. The Norwegian army used lots of German and USA gear as you might know.
